Midterm Reflection

When I start looking at the beginning of the semester, and how things have evolved for me I cannot believe how I have grown already.  At the beginning of the semester, I was nervous about working on a writing project with students that I was not familiar with.  Now, I am realizing how the project was constructed for us to make it successful for the students that we are working with, and for our learning experience.

With my students, I am able to understand that I need to be creative and have an understanding that you need to be flexible when it comes to writing.  Writing is an area that is vital to every student’s education, and we as teachers need to recognize that each student is going to have different ways in being able to write.  The strategies that we are learning to address the writing process are very educational.  Especially since it is key to relate this process in a classroom atmosphere, and not just being told about it.  Working with different levels of children is very educational for me.  I am able to get experience, which is key to becoming a better teacher in the future.

I would like to have more information about how to integrate my students into a productive classroom.  I feel that this is pertinent information for me to have.  I think that my fellow classmates would find this information very useful.  Another area that I would like to address is maybe different literature that we could have on hand for our diverse classrooms.  I am really enjoying this class.  I think that the biggest reason I am enjoying it is, the classroom time.  The classroom practicum experience is vital for my learning, because I am a learner by doing.  I really appreciate all of your information that you are giving us to use for now, and the future.
